The next week, James sang The Killer's song "Mr. Brightside", which landed him in the top ten. After singing the song, "Somebody to Love" by Queen James whe went on to be ranked among the top six.

The Voice was not the first reality show of James as he has previously been on a much lesser famous show called High School Musical: Get in the Picture in 2008. The show featured teenage singing contestants, competing for their chance to sing. James went to the top five before getting eliminated in the eighties theme part of the show.
