The twenty-two year old musician, Flume, belongs to Sydney. It took him just a little over a year to cement his position as an acknowledged musician in the electronic and dance music industry. Flume has already knocked out the popular boy band, One Direction, from the top of Australian charts. He has experienced similar success elsewhere and has also bagged four ARIA Awards . His music reflects UK garage influences coupled with house genre. Flume is renowned for his prodigious deployment of lush synths, cut-up chipmunk vocals and atmospheric instrumental passages.

The beginning of Flume's music creation dates back to when he was in his teens. After finding a production disc in a packaged cereal box, Flume began to make house tunes that will later become his first official work under the title HEDS- the initials of his real name Harley Edward Streten. Two tracks from that time became notable creations later, named Flow and Fizz. Soon after that, he participated in an Australian record company, Future Classic's talent hunt competition and managed to win it with his distinctive knack for music. Flume produced the three wining tracks, Over You, Sleepless and Paper Thin, for the company which also led him to get signed to the same company as well. His first official release came as an EP in 2011, titled as "Sleepless", and thus began his immensely successful music career.

One year after his debut EP and some eight odd years after his fist experiment with music, Flume packaged everything he had learned into his self-titled debut album and released it in November 2012. The album opened to explosive public reaction and exceptional critical acclaim. By now Flume was the latest sensation in the world of EDM. "Flume" also had guest appearances by some other EDM stars like Moon Holiday, Chet Faker and Jezzabell Doran. In Australia, it debuted at the top of the charts and went on to attain platinum certification. The album was also an international success and reached Top 20 in New Zealand. The single, Holding On, became a huge hit and earned the star several award nominations as well. Flume's debut album continued to add stars to his success chart by making it to the Triple J Hottest 100 chart as well. Only one other debut electronic album has achieved this kind of success as "Flume", which was Sneaky Sound System's "2", released in 2008.

In 2013, Flume also took his first headlining tour in Australia, called 'Infinity Prism Tour', and managed to sell above fifty thousand tickets. At the SXSW Festival, Flume was titled as the 'Must-See-Act'. In November of the same year, Flume released an extended version of his debut album with further additions by other stars as well; Boldy James, Killer Mike and M.O.P. to name a few. Flume also released an EP with the fellow artist Faker, titled as "Lockjaw". This was followed by Flume's first ever United Stated tour alongside the band 'Disclosure'.
