First Aid Kit is a spectacular Swedish band that has gained popularity all over USA with their amazing Americana and folk music. Active since 2007, they have released a number of albums through labels such as Rabid Records and are best termed as folk music duo made up of the sisters Johanna and Klara Soderberg. Johanna Soderberg is the lead vocalist of the group, singing vocal harmonies, as well as its songwriter, churning out folk influenced tunes like those of Joanna Newsom or the Fleet Foxes. First Aid Kit originates from Enskede in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. In 2007, the two sisters began composing songs and then recorded a demo tape at home, titled as Tangerine, and sent it to a radio station in Sweden. Their music was then played on radio and soon led to their being signed onto the label Rabid Records, owned by the electronic duo, The Knife. They also gained popularity for cover songs of the Fleet Fixes such as Tiger Mountain Peasant Song which gained a lot of fame on YouTube. It ultimately led to them performing with the Fleet Foxes live in the Netherlands.
 
In 2008, First Aid Kit released an EP titled as Drunken Trees in Sweden, an album that was re-issued in the UK by the label Wichita Records in 2009 featuring additional songs such as the Fleet Foxes cover and three music videos taken of the duo's live concert in Sweden. In 2010, they released the album titled as The Big Black & The Blue and then went on a tour filled with one hundred shows. This tour led them to various venues in the US and Canada, much of Europe and Australia and New Zealand. They also went on to headline the Spanish music festival, the Primavera Festival, held in Barcelona.
 
First Aid Kit also performed a concert in Nashville and then recorded a single for Jack White as part of his Third Man Records releases. In 2011, they also work with the Bright Eyes and performed with them in Lua. In 2012, they released their second album titled as The Lion's Roar with songs produced by Mike Mogis. This album propelled them to even more fame and the album ranked first in Sweden and charted in the UK. It also ranked high in Australia, Austria, Belgium, fourteenth on Denmark charts, nineteenth in Finland, the Netherlands, third in Norway, in Switzerland and even in the US.
