The 2014 festival of jazz featuring, Lee Ritenour, Jessie J, Dave Grusin, The Manhattan Transfer and Spyro Gyra is about to take place at the Chateau Ste Michelle Winery. With over a hundred live performances on annual basis, the American jazz fusion band, Spyro Gyra is all set to entertain you with their astounding musical approach. Known for selling over ten million copies, Sypro Gyra specialize in smooth jazz and fusion jazz, having elements of funk, R&B and pop. They became part of the music industry in the 70s, and by now have released over thirty albums and produced a variety of hit numbers such as, City Kids, Down the Wire, Morning Dance, Shaker Song and Mallet Ballet. The band has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards in various categories including, "Best Jazz Fusion Performance", "Best Pop Instrumental Album" and "Best Rhythm and Blues Instrumental Performance".
Accompanying Spyro Gyra at the 2014 Festival of Jazz are The Manhattan Transfer, who are also an experienced jazz group working actively since the 70s. They have also come up with a variety of hit songs including, Route 66, On a Little Street in Singapore, Too Busy Thinking About my Baby and The Boy from New York City. The band is also credited for providing soundtracks to many popular films such as, A League of Their Own, Swing Kids, Schoner Gigolo, Armer Gigolo and Home Improvement.
Apart from jazz bands, a few renowned solo artists such as, Lee Ritenour will also be performing live at the 2014 Festival of Jazz. Known for contributing to over 3000 sessions and charting over thirty contemporary jazz hits, Lee Ritenour has lined up all his popular tracks for the upcoming performance. Being an accomplished composer, musician and producer has earned the 62 year old, Lee Ritenour an amazing fan following from across the music fraternity.
Nominated for nineteen Grammy Awards winning one in the category of "Best Arrangement on an Instrumental" for Harlequin, Lee Ritenour has worked with some of the top record label companies of the industry such as, Concord, Elektra, PolyGram, Epic, Decca and GRP. Throughout his career, Ritenour has worked alongside a variety of popular musicians such as, B.B. King, Anthony Jackson, Slash, Mike Stern and Harvey Mason.
A female artist, Jessie J will also be performing live at the upcoming Festival of Jazz. The English singer/songwriter is currently enjoying the success of her most recent album release, Alive. The record has received a Gold certification and produced top charting hits including, It's My Party, Wild and Thunder. To date, Jessie J has sold over 11 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide. Apart from the new tracks, Jessie is also credited for many of her gold certified tracks from her debut album including, Domino, Nobody's Perfect, Do It Like a Dude and Price Tag.
For her expertise in music, Jessie J has been honored with more than thirty prestigious awards such as the, Brit Award, Mobo Award, BBC Radio 1 Teen Award, Q Award and UK Festival Award. The twelve time Grammy Award winning arranger, composer and pianist, Dave Grusin will also be performing live at the upcoming Festival for Jazz.
