An alternative rock star in her own right, Courtney Love is known for her powerful punk-pop music and superb vocals. Many reasons for her popularity also include being married to Nirvana's lead musician, Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994. The punk rocker and actress always manage to stay in the news, be it for some controversy or her creative expeditions. Currently she is making the headlines for her summer tour in which she will be performing along with Lana Del Rey. The US tour will bring the two divas to numerous venues and the music buffs have already booked Courtney Love tickets.
Courtney Love was born to parents Hank Harrison and Linda Caroll, a well-known publisher and publicist, respectively. She developed a free spirited personality by travelling around with her family. Her grandmother set up a trust fund for her and Love used it to travel around the world. On her trip to Liverpool she met the musician Julian Cope and performed regularly with him at his gigs. She later returned to America and following her musical exposure in Liverpool, made her entry into the US music scene. She started singing with local bands in her area and it was during these performances that she caught the attention of Alex Cox, the film director. She landed a minor role in his film "Sid and Nancy" and later featured in the movie "Straight to Hell".
Courtney Love continued her stint as an actress but didn't manage any hits. All the while she was also trying her luck in music and became part of different bands, though her association didn't last long with any one of them. With the musician Kat Bjelland, she formed the band Sugar Baby Doll and the two dressed according to the name in baby doll dresses and smeared makeup. The duo later came up with the band The Pagan Babies and recorded four demo songs. Love was unable to sustain her music relationship with Bjelland and after a couple of more unsuccessful ventures, parted ways. It wasn't an easy ride for her and after facing a lot of hardships and finding no good opportunities, she moved to LA.
Not giving up, Courtney Love polished her skills as a guitarist and in 1989 formed her own band, Hole. She was joined by the bassist Jill Emery, guitarist Eric Erlandson and drummer Caroline Rue. Hole's first album "Pretty on the Inside" hit the shelves in 1991 and despite meeting moderate commercial success, it impressed the music critics. During the time her debut record released, Love crossed path with Nirvana's heartthrob Kurt Cobain and an epic romance started. It led to a beach wedding in Hawaii in 1992 and later she gave birth to a daughter, Frances Bean. Their blissful life didn't last for long, as rumors surfaced about the couple using drugs and the hype reached to such a level that depressed Cobain eventually committed suicide. His death took place at the same time when Love's album "Live Through This" was about to release and despite being in grief, she handled its promotions, making it a Platinum hit. Courtney Love picked herself up and produced two successful albums, "Celebrity Skin" and "Nobody's Daughter".
Love's life is continuing with its ups and downs, but she hasn't parted ways either with music or acting. She is currently enjoying fame on television on the series Empire. Earlier in 2014 she released the songs titled "You Know My Name" and "Wedding Day". Courtney Love has been performing live on and off, and this time will share the stage with Lana Del Rey as part of the latter's Endless Summer Tour. According to the news, Love might be performing songs from her solo album that is expected to release sometime next year. The combination of two divas and their undeniable talent has gotten the fans excited, and they are rushing to buy Courtney Love tickets for the upcoming concerts.
