An American rock band formed in the late 1980?s, Cherry Poppin Daddies was a not so famous rock band of Eugene, Oregon. No doubt that the band put in efforts for their music to rock the world with their performance, but was faced with reactions opposing their creativity from the people who were fan of rock bands.

The reason being the experiment that the band members did with their music ranging from mostly rock to swing and finally funk, with best known for their contributions to the swing revival movement in the late 1990s.

The rock band also has to its credit of being known for their Oregon-based offbeat following and lively stage shows.

The forming of the band took place in the year 1989 and it was the work of mainly dropouts from the University of Oregon. The university students had reasons of their own to make such a decision focusing more on their entry into the world of music.

What the youngsters had in mind was a very different concept of rock band i.e. to just combine a few instruments together with lyrics that were solely their creations with gaining suggestions from band members only and get a green signal altogether.

The front man, who had slightly different views compared to the other band members, and therefore wanted to distance himself from the sound (not pleasant to the ears) and with the bad name that was spread across Northwest.

With the kind of music that the rock band exposed there was no doubting the fact that, Daddies almost immediately gained considerable bad name in their hometown.

And not only this, but the stage performances that the band portrayed with wearing wild costumes and dancing all over the stage and literally playing havoc with their display of vulgarism. With such a show there was no doubting the fact that this act stirred some controversy in the band's community.

It also resulted in receiving inappropriate mails, threats even protests outside of their concerts. All these mixed emotional responses made the rock band to eventually gave into community pressure and temporarily performed under a number of names in the Eugene area, including The Daddies and The Bad Daddies. Such great response proved it right that majority is authority always.

With such serious response, the band still managed to release their self-produced debut after a year of their birth with heavy emphasis on bass and brass and lyrics that ranged from deep to raunchy, musical diversity, swaying between swing, funk rock, metal, and even disco.

Gradually, the band viewed improvement with releasing of their third album with less of an emphasis on horns, and less goofy, more serious lyrics, which brought in a prominent change in the rock band and therefore have been alive in the world of music till today.

Even though the Cherry Poppin' Daddies rock band started off as becoming not so famous band to its home crowd or to people residing out of Oregon, they still should be applauded for their show of being independent and have courage to face the criticism coming from all.

However, the main thing remains that even though the band tried to make good music but failed every time regardless of being insulted many times they kept on making way towards music, and what counts the most is to focus on what the audiences want to hear because at the end of the day it is always the listeners who are responsible of making or breaking of the band by their suggestions.

So a little concentration on this major error and good effort involved, the rock band can still make wonders for the rock band and music fans all over.
