This release hit the shelves in the summer of 1998 and became an instant hit. The success of this album established Chen as an independent performing artist. She remained with Magicstone until 2003. Chen produced music independently after that.

Since her Demo 1 came out in 1997 Cheer Chen has released a total of six albums, a pair of compilations, four demo CDs and six singles. Apart from these she has sung her hit songs "Live in Silence" for Lee The Blues Jeans advertisement that was later featured on Peripeteia, her fourth album. She has also appeared as the spokesperson and brand ambassador for a number of local and international brands.

Currently, Chen is working on her new album. She has a very low profile but is very much active in touring. She likes performing live and gives a lot of time preparing for them. Chen has been performing concerts regularly since 2008. She frequently tours in the Chinese speaking world mostly China, Macau, Hong Kong and Singapore. She has also performed in Australia in 2011.
