The lead singer of "Morningwood," the now defunct New York based band, the amazing Chantal Claret has made her mark on the industry in a big way. Her talents have shown through all that she has done as a solo artist and as a member of the group to put herself in the company of the fastest rising names in the business. Chantal Claret's parents were both into collecting arts. Claret was into music at a very young age and that led her to promoting all sorts of bands during her teenage years. That gave her some insight into how the world of music world. She wasn't really looking to venture into music as a professional singer. Claret enrolled herself in a film school with aspirations of becoming a music video director. Her plans changed when she met "Pedro Yanowitz." Yanowitz was writing down a few songs in the year 2001 and that is when he met Claret for the first time. The two shared the same passion for music so they teamed up and started to jot down lyrics of a few tracks together. Those sessions that began on experimental basis soon turned into Morningwood later that year.
More members were added to the band and they decided to record an album that was to be their debut in the world of music. It was to be a self-titled album and they decided to seek for experience to help them produce it. "Gil Norton" had worked with famous names like "the Foo Fighters" and "Pixies" as a producer and he agreed to do the honors for Morningwood as well. The album hit the music stores on 10th January, 2006. The response it received from critics was mixed. That did not however deter them and they hit the road for their their first major tour across the United States. The road trip faired pretty well and that went a long way in taking the group and Chantal Claret to the masses.
Morningwood managed to go all the way to becoming a finalist on "Who's Next," a list compiled by the website Yahoo where music fans vote for music artists to look out for. That and appearances on famous TV shows like "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," "Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show" and "Last Call with Carson Daily" pushed them into mainstream music.
The group then released their next album titled "Diamonds & Studs," in 2009. Morningwood stayed together for around three more years before disbanding in the year 2012. Chantal Claret then embarked on a solo career. She started of directing a few videos and appeared on Mike Relm's track that was titled "Wait (The Nexus)." She made her debut with the video "Pop Pop Bang Bang" which came out on "Vevo," the website dedicated to music. Claret then came out with an EP titled "The Pleasure Seeker" on 3rd April, 2012. Just over two months later she released her first ever solo song "The One, The Only."
