The Buckle Up Music Festival is set to take place soon and will feature some of the biggest bands in country music, including Alabama, the Eli Young Band, Jt Hodges, The Band Perry, Alison Krauss & Union Station and The Lone Bellow. The festival will be hosted by Cincinnati, Ohio and is organized by Bill Donabedian, who is known for organizing festivals such as the MidPoint Music Festival, Fountain Square and the Bunbury Music Festival. This year, the Buckle Up Music Festival will feature more than sixty acts. Headliners include Alabama, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, The Band Perry, the Eli Young Band, Old Crow Medicine Show, Thompson Square, Jamey Johnson and Emmylou Harris. Amongst the headliners are bands and artists who have sold millions of albums.
Alabama is one such act. A band hailing from Fort Payne, Alabama, they are known for their country and southern rock music, which is often blended with bluegrass. They have been active since 1972, except for brief hiatuses during the 2000s. Alabama have released music via labels such as RCA Records, MDJ and GRT. The band's members today are Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry and Randy Owen. Founded by the trio of cousins, they rose to fame during the eighties, during which they released twenty seven Number One singles. They have also released seven multi-platinum certified albums. Overall, thirty of their albums have reached Number One on the Billboard charts and they are ranked as one of the best selling bands of all time in the world.
Alison Krauss, member of Alison Krauss & Union Station, will also be headlining at this amazing music festival. She is an American singer, songwriter and musician who plays the piano, fiddle and mandolin. She has been active since 1984 and has released music via the Rounder record label. She began recording music at the age of fourteen and released her first solo album in 1987. She founded Alison Krauss and Union Station in 1989 and has since led it to massive success.
Krauss is credited with helping revive interest in bluegrass, and her music has been featured on the soundtrack of movies such as Cold Mountain. She holds the distinction of winning to the most number of Grammy Awards, and has won the prestigious award twenty eight times from forty one nominations. When she received her first Grammy Award, she was the second youngest artists to win the award.
The Band Perry will also be headlining at the Buckle Up Music Festival. Hailing from Alabama, the country band has been active since 2005 and has released music via Republic Records Nashville. The band's members are siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry. In 2009, they were signed onto Republic Records and released their first studio album in 2010. The self-titled released won them critical acclaim and they followed that up with their second album, 2013's Pioneer. From this album, the song If I Die Young ranked first on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and was certified quadruple platinum.
