The celebrated Australian rock musician was the lead singer and lyricist of Australian hard rock band AC/DC. He joined the band in 1974 and rocked the music world with his impeccable charm and talent until his death in 1980.
He did not only brought AC/DC into sharp focus, but also played his role in popularizing the Rock music among the wider audience the world over. He left millions of his fans in grief with hid death on February 19, 1980. However, his music still breathes in the form of a band that aims to keep the musical traditions of Bon Scott alive for years and years to come.
The Bon Scott Band consists of an amazing line up of talented musicians Jordi Vazquez, Angel Camacho, Danny Pujol, Ismael and Fredy Fresquet. The band was formed in 1990?s. The idea came up during some fruit jams sessions during the summer of 1997.
These sessions by Jordi Vazquez and Jos? Castell? bore fruitful results as they managed to match and interpret some classics of AC / DC. This made them to form a tribute band and they started finding musicians who would accompany them to make a great tribute band for a great artist.
The band started recording their first demo in the following year. They also made their debut in Europe. The first release Rock & Bon became a major hit and managed to do develop some fan base for the band. By 2000, they were considered as one of the most inescapable rock bands in the country.
Their performance as the closing act of 5th edition of the festival Vi?a Rock is among the initial highlights of the band where they performed beautiful melodies in front of 7,000 people.
The success run did not stop in following years as well. 2001 was a very fruitful year as they performed in events like Razzmatazz 1, Sala Republic-party presentation of the 6th-Vi?a Rock, 7th Piorno Rock Festival and Madrid and Burgos in places like Barcelona, Valencia and Grenada.
The second tribute CD from the Bon Scott was titled If you want Bon... It proved a massive hit and the band members gained both applause and admiration from different people with different tastes. They did not only rocked the new generation of rock lovers with their soulful rendition of Bob Scott?s melodies, but also gained acceptance from those who have been listening to his melodies for decades now.
The degree of popularity reached to an astounding height when the group gave sold out performances in Festival Nit de Reis Barcelona, Disco Cross Madrid, Vi?a Rock Albacete, Lorca Rock Murcia, Festival Bike Show and Festival Interpe?as Zaragoza.
The band also recorded for the series Pets & Pets and did their first own composition Iced Beer. They also participated in Hammered Tour 2002 where they received amazing response. This tour with Lemmy was the greatest experience that any musician could want. They still credited the band for the great success of the tour.
In 2003 the group became involved in the composition of some new tracks. Meanwhile they received an invitation from Blind Guardian to perform at the Blind Guardian Open Air Fest in Coburg, Germany. The band took full advantage of the opportunity to play abroad for the first time, and gathered a good reception from the public there. Their act at first Metalmania Festival was also widely acclaimed.
The band faced some rough times in 2004 when one of its key members had suffered from a serious illness which made them to hire The Gnaposs David Munoz, an exceptional guitarist with grate musical sense.
The original guitarist Tite made two live appearances, first in a very emotional concert in Mataro and then in Barcelona, obtaining a full and overwhelming tattooed leaving a night to remember. Besides this, the band also focused on the renewal of its website and recorded their concerts in Barcelona and Tudela for a DVD or live CD release.
David Munoz Gnaposs left the band for professional reasons after two years and 67 concerts. He was replaced by ex-Rockzilla guitarist Berengena Ismael. Ismael has earned the respect of fans with great performances and consolidated within the band quickly.
The Bon Scott Band celebrated its tenth anniversary planning new release and touring different places. They recorded their last demo with J. Bernat, who later leaved the band and was replaced by Freddy Fresquet. He is an experienced musician from Barcelona who gave new strength to the band?s already strong line up. He conducted extensive tours conducted with the band.
