Avi Avital is a famous mandolin player from Israel. He is also a performer and a composer. Avital is most popular for his absolutely amazing renditions of folk as well as Baroque songs. Avital studied at the known Jerusalem Academy of Music and then later ventured into the popular Cesare Pollini Conservatory Music that is located in Padua in Italy. Avital has successfully performed at the esteemed Carnegie Hall, the Forbidden City Concert Hall, Lincoln Center, the Berlin Philharmonie and has given exciting live shows in collaboration with several international chamber groups as well as orchestras from all over the world. apart from receiving the Grammy nomination, Avital fruitfully won the Aviv Competition of Israel and also won the ECHO Prize of Germany. Avital has given live performances for the WQXR's amazing Café Concert series and also of Tiny Desk Concert of NPR's.
To support his release of June 2012, he went on a four-city tour in the northeast of the United States of America. Avi Avital performed live at the Washington's D.C.'s Sixth, Tin Angel of Philadelphia, Lily Pad of Boston and Le Poisson Rouge as well as Barbes of New York City. Avital was also a part of the premier of the Yellow Lounge presentation in the United States that was by Deutsche Grammophone. He was also seen performing live at the presentation of the Universal Music show that was hosted for iTunes in Cupertino in California.
For the 2012-2013 season he performed with the San Diego Symphony which had a global premier show as it featuring the works of David Bruce and also performed with the Colorado Symphony. Currently, Avital is in residency for the glorious Alaska Center which is for the Performing Arts. He plays the chamber music there with his own group known as The Avital Trio that is comprised of three instruments like the mandolin, guitar and the harp at the popular Molloy College that is situated in Long Island.
