Born in 1984, Andreas began his musical journey at the age of twenty four. In 2009, he released his first single 'So Liab Hob I Di' in order to participate in the national competition, Gran Prix Folk Music. The single was a hit at the competition and won the second place. It found place among the Top 20 on the Austrian charts. Following the success of his debut single, Andreas released his first studio album 'Da Komm' Ich Her' during the same year. The album was again a hit, reaching number four spot on the Austrian Albums chart. The album was certified Gold status in Austria within a month and also earned Andreas three Amadeus Award nominations including 'Album of the Year'.  

In 2010, Andreas released his second album 'Herzwerk' that topped the Austrian Top 40 charts and remained at number one position for sixty four weeks. The album remained at Top 10 position on the Austrian Album chart for record setting seventy four weeks, only three weeks short of Michael Jackson' 'Thriller'. In 2011, Andreas's popularity rose to new heights in Germany when his song 'I Sing A Liad Fur Di' became the title track for famous TV anchor Carmen Nebel's show. The track peaked at number sixty five position on the Media Control Charts. Initially the track was not released in Germany, but after its huge success, Universal Recording Label officially released the single in July 2011. The track spawned several chart breaking remixes including DJ Otzi's version that became a hit after the single's official release in Germany, reaching Top 30 position on German Singles charts. 

Andreas has won several honors and accolades for his chart breaking and platinum certified albums. In 2012, the artist won the 'Best Folk Music Award' at ECHO. He also bagged a 'Man of the Year Award', SMAGO Award, 'My Star of the Year Award' and a Bambi Award during the same year. He has also won two Amadeus Awards, most recently in 2013 for 'Best Folk Music'. His latest album 'Home Sweet Home', released in June 2013, has once again topped the Austrian Albums chart and landed at number six position on the Media Control Charts. The hit single from the latest studio album, 'Go for Gold' was also a number one hit in Austria and reached gold status after selling thousands of copies.
