It aired in 1993 first and Monday is the day it airs live every week. Extreme Championship Wrestling, on the other hand, compliments WWE: RAW and WWE: Smackdown. It was a separate brand initially but after becoming bankrupt, WWE re-launched it.

Some of the most celebrated wrestlers are The Hulk Hogan, The Rock, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Ric Flair, Shaun Michaels (Heart Break Kid), Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Big Show, Kurt Angle, John Cena, Edge, Rob Van Dam, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio. These and many others have a huge fan following. Each wrestler has a signature style, special entrance music and style and have their own moves. For instance, the Choke Slam is Big Show’s signature move, the Ankle Lock is Kurt Angle’s, The Spear is shared by Goldberg and The Edge while the German Duplex belongs to Chris Benoit.

Some of the WWE champions have made it big in Hollywood too. One such obvious example is The Rock with movies such as The Scorpion King, The Mummy Returns, Walking Tall and many others. On the other hand, a few wrestlers have a very big female fan following, for example, John Cena.

Even though women do not have matches as frequently as the male wrestlers, they still are an important part. Famous female WWE wrestlers are Sable, Sunny, Debra, Natalya, Eve, Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson.
