Vanilla Fudge Tickets
"Vanilla Fudge" is counted among some of most influential, genre-shaping American rock bands that bridged the 60s' psychedelic to the newly branching heavy metal genre. Formed in early sixties, their original lineup comprised of organist/vocalist Mark Stein, bassist Tim Bogert, guitarist Vince Martell, and drummer Carmen Appice. The act recorded five albums between 1966 and 1969, disbanded in 1970, and has since been reuniting in different configurations playing concerts and touring.
Currently they are performing with three original members Carmine Appice, Mark Stein and Vince Martell with bassist Pete Bremy as the touring replacement of Tim Bogert. They are best known for playing psychedelic covers of popular songs, among which their biggest hit was The Supremes' You Keep Me Hanging On, The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby and Ticket to Ride. After more than five decades of playing some of the most electrifying, energy-propelling shows, Vanilla Fudge tickets create quite the havoc among metal fans for their raw metal appeal.
Bogert and Stein were part of the local band, Rick Martin & Showmen. During the time, the two became so fond of The Rascals' rich organ and swinging sounds that they decided to make their own band with Martin's drummer, Brennan and Martell. Initially they called themselves The Pigeons but by 1966 changed to "Vanilla Fudge," when Brennan took Appice's place. The band was then discovered and later managed by Phillip Basile, member of the notorious Lucchese crime family who was well known for running many popular clubs in NYC.
At the time, Led Zeppelin was only emerging and toured across America with them as their opening act. The Fudge's greatest hit was their cover of The Supremes' song You Keep Me Hanging On, which they played in low-tempo hard rock featuring Appice's strong drumming and Stein's psychedelic baroque organ. The four artists of the band were all diehard fans of The Beatles and covered many of their songs. A lot of those were released on their self-titled debut album. To date, their most successful hits includes Take Me For a While, Good Good Lovin', Come By Night, Come By Day, The Look of Love, and Season of The Witch, all of which appeared on US Hot 100 charts.
In March 1970, they did a farewell show at Basille's Action House following which Appice and Bogert left to form their new band, Cactus. Stein who was now left all by himself, brought in two new members from Poughkeepsie-based group Dino & The Caveman, bassist Sal D'Nofrio and drummer Jimmy Galluzi but that did not work out. Since their disbanding they have reunited various times and released compilation albums alongside fresh material.
"Vanilla Fudge's" most popular studio albums that have appeared on US Top 200, include Vanilla Fudge, Renaissance, The Beat Goes On, Near the Beginning, and Rock and Roll, among which their biggest hit was the former most that peaked at number six. Their other albums, which they released after breaking up include Mystery, The Return and their most recent Out Through the In-Door, released in 2007. Their compilation releases include Box of Fudge, When Two Worlds Collide, Orchestral Fudge, Good Good Rockin, Rocks the Universe, The Real Deal, The Return, Psychedelic Sundae, and Best of Vanilla Fudge.
In spring 2011, the band announced a farewell tour featuring a lineup of Carmine Appice, Vince Martell, Mark Stein and bassist Pete Bremy. The same year, they made an appearance on late night talk show with Jimmy Fallon and played the smash hit You Keep Me Hanging On. They continued to tour with the same lineup throughout the year, and by February 2012, went on to perform with The Yardbirds. So make sure you grab some Vanilla Fudge tickets and be there for a breathtaking experience.
