The creation of a New Yorker cartoonist Charles Adams is the ironic depiction of a typical yet unique family. The family members of this family are eccentric and wealthy with peculiar ways. The family is ridiculously unaware of their impression on other people and does not realize that other might find them frightening or bizarre.

The Addams Family has also been a popular TV series shot in Black and white and showed on TV from September 1964 till April 1966. This television series was a 30 minutes program and had two seasons. It was a Filmways, Inc and was filmed in General Service Studios California. The rights of the show are owned by MGM television and this Series featured on ABC network in 64 parts. The cast of Addams Family starred Carolyn Jones, John Astin, Jackie Coogan, Ted Cassidy, Blossom, Ken Weatherwax and Lisa Loring This show was produced by Nat Perrin and he also developed the storyboard, script and even directed one episode. The tone of this show was based on sardonic remarks, wacky satire and eccentric humor. The Shows were so popular that later a home edition was developed on DVDs. Cousin It and Hand were one of the favorite characters from the television series. This program was also adapted by a Canadian TV channel and was named Then New Addams Family. The show ran simultaneously on Fox Family Channel in US and YTV in Canada.

The Addams Family was also incarnated as a Film by Orion Pictures. The film was released by Paramount Pictures on November16, 1991. This Film was Barry Sonnenfeld direction and was produced by Scott Rudin. This film was jointly written by Charles Addams, Caroline Thompson and Larry Wilson. The movie incorporated Marc Shaiman's film score and cinematography was done by Owen Roizman. The film has several alterations from the Television series like Father Gomez in the film had many superpowers unlike the series. The film also won an award by Horror Hall of Fame for the Best Horror Film of the Year. This film was a huge success and was followed by a Sequel called Adam Family Values.

The Addams Family was twice ventured as an animated series. The first animation based Adam Family was created in 1973 and was a Hanna-Barbera Productions. The Addams Family first made their appearance on the special show of Scooby Doo. The Audiences loved the family so much that they got their own show. This show was a huge success and then after many years the show returned in 1992.

The Addams Family musical has Songs by Andrew Lippa and is inspired from the Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice's book. Marshall and Rick have also written the famous musical Jersey Boys. The play includes amazing songs depicting the personality traits of each character like pulled, Happy/Sad and Let's Not Talk about Anything Else but Love. This musical features the Tony and Emmy award winning actor Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. Sergio Trujillo is going to choreograph the whole act and is directed by Olivier Award-winning Phelim McDermott & Julian Crouch.

Mother Morticia has reservations about her daughter's new found love and Father Gomez is cool as ever just hoping that nothing would change.
