American rock band Panic at the Disco, are best known for their theatrical pop rock musical sensibilities best reflected in their 2008 album, Too Rare to Die, Too Weird to Live! The Grammy-nominated band comprises of lead vocalist, pianist and guitarist Brendon Urie; drummer Spencer Smith; and their most recent add-up bassist Dallon Weekes. The band was formed in 2004, and recorded its earliest demos while its members were still high school students. Soon after, they recorded and issued their debut studio offering A Fever You Can't Sweat Out in 2005, which gained significant popularity from its lead single, called I Write the Sins, Not Tragedies. The album soon attained the sales of certified double platinum, following which they made their second album that was noted for its tonal shift from its preceding hit so that the record undersold its commercial expectations, receiving mixed responses from critics and fans.
To date, they have released four studio albums, alongside many singles including hits like Miss Jackson, Mercenary, Let's Kill Tonight, The Ballads of Mona Lisa, New Perspective, Northen Downpour, That Green Gentleman, Mad as Rabbits, Nine in the Afternoon, and But Its Better If You Do, among several others. Since this rock acts incorporates various elements of pop punk, baroque pop and emo pop, Panic at the Disco tickets are considered to be quite a sought-after treat among a broad spectrum of pop and rock fans.
Panic at the Disco was founded in 2004, when childhood friends Spencer Smith and Ryan Ross, in the suburban region of Summerlin, Las Vegas. The two were studying at the bishop Gorman High School, and together started playing music in the ninth grade. To join bass, they invited their friend Brent Wilson, who then invited his classmate Bredon Urie to play the guitar. In their initial days, they were a mere blink-182 cover band, with Urie as their lead vocalist. All four members soon left their educations to fully concentrate on a music career, with Urie and Ross committed to their laptops in creating demos. The two developed these early demos and posted three of them, Nails for Breakfast, Camisado, and Tacks for Snacks, on PureVolume. Acting on a whim, they forwarded a link to bassist Pete Wentz through an account on LiveJournal. Soon enough, Wentz, who at the time was living in Los Angeles with his band the Fall Out Boy, drive down to Vegas to meet the unsigned, young band. On hearing just a couple of their songs, Wentz was so impressed that he immediately decided to get them to sign with his label Decaydance Records. When the band officially signed, all its members were still enrolled in high school, and had yet to perform their first live show.
While the band has mostly played its characteristic pop rock sound, it has experimented briefly with elements of baroque pop and vaudeville, which are mainly present in its second album. This shift in style was made quite intentionally at the time as was obvious in the album's first single Nine in the Afternoon, which was heavily influenced by acts like the Beatles, The Kinks, and the Beach Boys, among others. Since the release of their third album however, the band returned to its initial debut album sound that was so welcome to its fans, describing the album as its rebirth.
