Michael Buble is an extremely multitalented actor that also is gifted with a voice that has gained him fame and international acclaim. His grand-father tracked the career path of his grandson and encouraged him to enter a talent contest in Vancouver. Amazingly enough, he won the first content that he ever participated in but was disqualified due to being under age. This never did take away the inspiration and momentum required to win other shows. At the age of 17, the singer was back again winning first prize in a Canadian Youth Talent Search Competition.

The next few years was filled with a journey embarked with a wave of surprises, hiccups and losses. He was actively pursuing a music career and even acting in theatre performances. His activities ranged from acting as Elvin in the Red Rock Diner road show and also a part of a musical band called Forever Swing. The breakthrough finally came when Michael McSweeney, associate to former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, saw his performance at a business party. Both had a chance to meet after the show. McSweeney encouraged the young talented individual and Michael reciprocated by offering a free album. The album was handed off to the former prime minister and his wife. He became an instant fan and was also offered to sing as a special performance at the wedding of the daughter of Brian Mulroney.

It was at the wedding that Michael was introduced to David Foster, winning producer and a Warner Brothers record executive who had worked with Josh Groban previously. Inspired with his lyrics and performance at the wedding, Foster signed Buble to his '143' record label, producing the self-titled album Michael Buble in 2000. The album features a range of standards from various eras including "Fever", "The Way You Look Tonight", "For Once in My Life", Van Morrison's "Moondance" and Lou Rawls's "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine". Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees sang back up vocals on Buble's version of the group's "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?"It took three consecutive years to get the record to the market, and the anticipation and wait paid dividends. The album went Platinum and reached the top ten in the UK charts and also enjoyed the # 1 position on the Australian charts. His version of George Michael's "Kissing a Fool" was released as a single from the album and reached the top 30 of the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" reached the top 30 of the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart as well. His third single "Sway", originally performed by Dean Martin, also reached the top 30 of the Adult Contemporary chart, while a Junkie XL re-mix of the song reached the top 20 in Australia in May 2004. He instantaneously became a universal house hold name and millions of music lovers were enjoying his remixes.

The hard word and dedication finally paid off when Buble won the "Best New Artist" award at the Juno Awards of 2004 and his self-titled album was nominated for "Album of the Year". All these were major achievements for a man who just came to the music stage as a struggling actor and remix singer.

Soon after the success of the first album, Buble released a Christmas EP Let it Snow in late 2003. A very similar output took place with this album as well. The title track reached the top 40 of the Australia singles chart. His live album and video won similar accolades.

Not forgetting his acting roots, Michael delved into the film business world appearing in a handful of films. His songs also began following a similar trend. His songs were now becoming inspirational sound tracks for movies like Down with Love and Spider-Man 2.

Michael Buble fan club keeps growing exponentially and now has an international platform to release his albums and singles. He has now sold in excess of ten million recordings worldwide. His popularity continues to grow as he has a massive following across Europe, North America, Australia, Southeast Asia, South Africa and Brazil.
