Rain has expanded over the years from an ordinary Beatles tribute band to the most successful theatrical touring production of its kind. Cast members from Beatlemania have jumped onto the bandwagon too, offering Beatles fans a complete tribute package with characters played to perfection.

Rain's origins are markedly different from its current setup. It began as a 70s club band called “Reign” (later changed to Rain) that performed Beatles songs in concert. Rain's mid-70s lineup had been convened for the Richard Marquand-directed biopic Birth of the Beatles. But when Beatlemania's Broadway production & national tour hit its prime in 1982, its cast members started appearing in Rain. Soon 'Rain' became a full-fledged theatrical Beatlemania offshoot. Joey Curatolo (McCartney), Steve Landes (Lennon), Joe Bithorn (Harrison), & Ralph Castelli (Starr) led a host of Beatlemania stars taking the field, while keyboardist Mark Lewis, the only original Rain member, retired in 2010.

Beatlemania made stars of the cast in its Tony-nominated 1006 performance run on Broadway. Rain itself ran for 300 shows on Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre from October 2010 to July 2011. It came at #17 on 2008's highest-grossing tours list.
