After four decades of play, Redskins were finally able to snatch their first ever Super Bowl Championship on January 30, 1983 as they defeated Miami Dolphins with the record of 27-17. Redskins' second Super Bowl Championship came to them on January 31, 1988 in Super Bowl XXII as they defeated Denver Broncos with the record of 42-10. This victory also came out to be the biggest come from behind victory in the Super Bowl history, as initially Redskins fell behind 10-0. Their latest super bowl win came to them in Super Bowl XXVI as they pulled of a victory against Buffalo Bills with the record of 37-24. That season also came out to be one of the best regular seasons that Redskins had, as they maintain their dominant position throughout the season.

In 1997, Redskins relocated once again, this time to Jack Kent Cooke Stadium that was renamed to FedEx Field back in 1999.

Redskins kicked off their current regular season on September 13, 2009 with a match up against New York Giants. Redskins' regular season is expected to conclude on January 3, 2010.
