The venue is also known to host concerts with the first concert performance being given by the legendary band The Beatles in 1964.

For each event that is held at the arena, eleven thousand to fourteen thousand people can be catered to. Free up your schedule as the grand stadium is becoming host to the 2nd Baltimore Hockey Classic event.

The debut game that was held in 2011 marked one of the first professional hockey games that were held in the area for over thirteen years. The game for the following year was cancelled as a result of the National Hockey League's lockout, after which the event is making its way once again to the city. At the game, the Washington Capitals will be initiating a competition with the professional ice hockey team, the Boston Bruins.

Founded in 1974, the Washington Capitals is an NHL ice hockey franchise with its roots set in Washington. Currently known to dominate Eastern Conference's Southeast Division, the Capitals team colors are white, navy and red. The team that is coached by Adam Oates with George McPhee as the general manager has been able to bag eight Division Championships, a Presidents' Trophy in 2009-10 and a Conference Championship in 1997-98. The Capitals have produced several Hall of Famers including Dino Ciccarelli, Mike Gartner, Rod Langway, Larry Murphy, Adam Oates and Scott Stevens.

The Capitals will be competing with a team that shares a similar career, the Boston Bruins. Established in 1924, the Bruins are a Boston based professional ice hockey team. They also compete in Eastern Conference's Northeast Division of the NHL. The Bruins are amongst the three oldest ice hockey teams in the United States, apart from also being one of the original six franchises. With a longstanding career that has garnered a massive amount of twenty four Division Championships, six Stanley Cups, four Conference Championships and a Presidents' Trophy; the Bruins are a force to reckon with.
