A circus named as the UniverSoul Circus was born in 1994. The purpose was to explore the various talents other than singing and dancing that black performers had to offer. Few weeks later, while walking through a Black Expo, the corner of my eye caught one particular booth. The sign said ‘Of Blacks and Circus Rings'.

I was shocked and stunned. I couldn't believe on my eyes what I was seeing at that moment. This vendor had artifacts, pictures, videos and in-depth knowledge of African American contributions to the circus industry.

The vendor led us to Prince BoJino, one of the first black lion tamers. He helped us, organize training for animal acts. He also introduced us to legendary black performers who helped us pull it all together. The process of recruiting, training and production began.

Three weeks before the opening, I paid a visit to the training facility. It was clear that the person we chose wasn't working out. After watching rehearsals all that has started flashing in my mind was possible the headlines ‘First Black Circus, Tiger eats Trainer on Opening Day'. So I fired the guy.

‘Noah's' Ark featuring Andre the Great was a Mixed Animal Act. Andre the Great guided the most unusual combination of animals two by two around the ring. Like Noah's Ark there are two camels, two llamas, two zebras and two ponies in synchronized movements around the ring.

Sheer Romance was the Dual Silk Aerial Act, held in Auckland, New Zealand and Brazil. In which male and female aerial act performed while flying through the air suspended only by two long, flowing pieces of silk.
