Mindless Self Indulgence
If you want to have some fun on holidays and are looking for some cool concert in your city, then check out for the truly starry act of Mindless Self Indulgence as this band can rock the young men and ladies alike wherever they perform.
Mindless Self Indulgence is a New York-based shock rock band. They have a mixed musical style including electronica, punk and even industrial hip hop. Taking their name from the CD Mindless Self-Indulgence, a solo album by Jimmy Urine, the band has created waves all over America with their fantastic acts.
The band traces its roots to Jimmy Urine who does Vocals and Programming for Mindless Self Indulgence. The first album he released was Mindless Self-Indulgence, which differed from most of Mindless Self Indulgence's later work, focusing mainly on an Industrial music style.
Steven Montano plays guitar in the band. Commonly known as Steve, Righ? After someone approached him during the show and said You're Steve, righ?..., he is the true backbone of the band.
Jennifer Dunn or Kitty is the drummer who joined the band in 1997 as a permanent member. She plays an acoustic drum kit which supposedly is augmented by backing tracks consisting of sampled loops for the live show.
Tight was the debut album by Mindless Self Indulgence that was released in 1999. This was followed by Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy or simply Frankenstein Girls which was the follow-up to the album Tight.
It was also the last studio album to feature Vanessa YT as their bass player. The cover of the album was drawn by Jamie Hewlett, the artist famous for Tank Girl, and more recently, Gorillaz. The band has seen many ups and downs but managed their charisma over the audiences.
Mindless Self Indulgence released You'll Rebel to Anything in 2005. This music album was released outside of the US on November 5, 2007 in an Expanded and Remastered edition. By January 22, 2008 the Expanded & Remastered version was sold in the US and replaced the original version.
It was also released in a special Japanese version in the same year. It included the demo of Bomb This Track and The MSI version of La-Di-Da-Di with extra lyrics and crude editing.
The year 2008 witnessed another work form MSI, tilted If. This was their fourth studio album by and was released through The End Records on April 28, 2008 in the UK and on April 29, 2008 in the US.
The band is coming up with a splendid lineup of live concerts in North American in support of this album and a world tour is also in the offing.
Mindless Self Indulgence maintains a devout fan base all over the world. They have been as popular on stage as they are on records.
The band has opened for many famous bands including Linkin Park, System of a Down, Korn, Staind, Sum 41, My Chemical Romance, Insane Clown Posse, Rammstein and Fu Manchu. They have also participated in the Voodoo Music Experience.
One thing that makes them different from others is their strategy. Rather than signing traditional record contracts, the band is known for licensing their albums to record labels, thus retaining ownership of their music
With four successful albums, two EPs, one live album, and one live DVD, Mindless Self Indulgence has all the guts to remain strong with their music. We advise you to go for their latest concert and Indulge in the music of the band.
