Among some of the topics of discussion for this season include El Sistema which is staged in relationship with a festival called Voices from Latin America. El Sistema is an educational program of Venezuela, which has been incredibly successful. With the event, the audience members will get to explore this incredible Venezuelan educational program and how it has affected the American people over the years. The event will be featuring the screening of a documentary called Dudamel: Let the Children Play, a panel discussion along with Dr. Jose Antonio Abreu and a lecture by Dr. Leon Botstein. The event will also be featuring Gustavo Dudamel as a panelist and Jeremy Geffen as the Moderator.
Another topic of discussion at the Discovery Days series this season is the Rite of Spring. Composed between 1911 and 1913 by Igor Stravinsky, the Rite of Spring is one of the most influential and celebrated French ballet of the 20th century. It has now been a century since the ballet originally made its world premiere and later went on to enjoy explosive popularity in the world of ballets. The ballet has gone on to inspire and influence many works as such, of the present times. With Richard Taruskin as the Keynote lecturer, the event will dissect the aspects of this renowned ballet which made it such a celebrated piece of art. The event will also look upon its influence on the 20th century ballet culture and will be presented in context with Salon Encores.

Britten has been a renowned and an influential figure of the 20th century classical music scene of Britain.
