Destiny's Child has left a mark on the face of the pop music that will never fade. Amassing millions of fans over the globe, Destiny's Child has created mass hysteria among the teens. People spend millions of bucks on purchasing Destiny's Child tickets!
Beyoncé's cousin Kelendria Rowland joined the group in 1992. Shortly thereafter they landed an appearance on Star Search, where they performed a rap song. The quartet's lineup was finalized when LeToya Luckett joined in 1993, and they spent the next few years working their way up from the Houston club scene. But the ladies were destined for lgreater feats. Finally, in 1997, Destiny's Child was offered a recording contract by Columbia Records.
Destiny's Child's first album, entitled Destiny's Child was unleashed on 19th February 1998. The album received mixed appraisals but its song No, No, No, quickly climbed to no.1 on the Billboard R&B chart and no.3 Pop. The blockbuster single sold over 1 million copies, turning the group into an instant R&B music sensation. However, follow-up singles With Me Pt.1 and Get On the Bus failed to capitalize the success achieved by No, No, No. Destiny's Child eventually went Platinum after later success.
Expectations weren't high for the group's second album, as most industry critics considered them to be another disposable R&B girl-group with one-hit wonder status. A few months later, their second album came in the market. The Writing's on the Wall, entered the Billboard 200 at No.6 upon its release on July 27, 1999. The second single, Bug-a-Boo hit the Top 40 pop charts, while its music video received heavy rotation on MTV and BET. Tickets of Destiny's Child began to sell worth hundreds of dollars. LaTavia Robertson and LeToya Luckett left the group. They were then replaced by Michelle Williams and dancer Farrah Franklin. However, in a very short span of time, Farrah Franklin also took a flight from the band, leaving Destiny's Child a trio.
In 2000, Destiny's Child had a hit on the Charlie's Angels Soundtrack with Independent Woman Part 1 and their success continued with 2001's disc, Survivor. The band members took a break after their megabuck seller Survivor. Three of them stepped up for their solo careers. Of all three girls, Beyoncé's solo career turned out to be the most successful. Her CD, Dangerously in Love, released in 2003, had chart-topping hits like Crazy in Love, Naughty Girl and Baby Boy. Despite her appeal on her own, Beyoncé rejoined Kelly and Michelle in 2004 to release another million seller album Destiny Fulfilled. It is reported that the Destiny Fulfilled has sold over 2.7 million copies in the US . Populace had to book a Destiny's Child ticket in advance for attending their concerts.
On 13th of June 2005, it was announced that the girls will disband after their world, ending at the fall of 2005. The group appeared on MTV on 21st June 2005 to officially pronounce their split. Their management has also decided to document their final tour for a special DVD.
