Anathallo
Anathallo is a famous musical band, which had been originated from the town of Mt. Pleasant of Michigan and presently based in Chicago. The band had started to practice in the fall of 2000 and appeared on stage after a short interval of time.
The name of the band, Anathallo, has been derived from a Greek word meaning to renew or refresh. They had released their first record titled Floating World, in the start of 2006. Their second release in expected in the month of November of 2008. it would be a follow up of the Floating World having the title Canopy Glow.
The comparatively new Chicago indie art-pop band, Anathallo had been originated in the town of Mt. Pleasant. It is interesting to know that there was no actual mountain nearby, but the boys from the town used to have the makeshift raft races on the Chippewa River, bridge diving competitions in the summer, and roller skating on the abandoned slides of one of the old water park.
Matthew Joynt, founder of Anthello band had all such kind of fun, before applying his energies to the world of arts: music lessons, theater productions, dance companies, even limited engagement to the lip-sync shows, and they had proto-grunge band called Clockwork.
Matt had finally decided to form a proper group in the year of 2000. he had hired some of the serious and self-taught musicians and marching band ruffians, he had assembled an ensemble that, exists even at the proper time. They had created a great discovery of innocence, optimism, ability and curiosity.
At the starting years, the band had got a huge fan base, and it had packed houses of theatres. Anathallo had been comprised of seven or eight members at that time. They had released four independent EPs, got into the routines of their fans and used many odd instruments.
They had made it their life style to be under the roof of their green Dodge Caravan in hospital parking lots, during their tours away from the home, quite often.
The band had released its first full-length in 2006, which was a great work of reality and the fondness and it was called Floating World. At that time, they had got 18 national tours, rightfully waiting for them.
The whole of the year was spent in traveling from one city to another, and when they had returned home, they had even more of the professional commitments to follow.
it was a real blessing for them, when they were offered a permanent residency at a Chicago church, with the effort of a friend and artist Tim Lowly. Anathallo had moved to the city of Chicago in January of 2007.
They had to do so many different and low profile jobs, in order to feed themselves; it included the jobs like serving the food to other people, and their pets. They had even practiced at Berry United Methodist for five hours each night.
Taking their names Greek translation to heart, the crew members had learned a lot of thing on the new land, which eventually is reflected in their music. They have developed their interest towards literature, music and film, and prepared themselves for a new album.
In order to follow a trip out to California for Coachella, all of the band members dropped their day-jobs and resided down in one of the churchs humid old rooms.
They had to watch the daycare kids next door shooting them funny faces, in such an atmosphere the band had formed their second album Canopy Glow.
It is an album that finds the band in the same blessed headspace birthed by Mt. Pleasant, but they were more focused than before. Anticon was the only label that Matt, Bret, Danny, Seth, Jeremiah, Erica and Jamie could all agree on.
