Norah Jones was born in Brooklyn, New York and is from Denton, Texas. The jazz and pop singer, songwriter and musician plays the guitar, piano and bass. She is also an actress, who has starred in a number of features. Jones began performing in 2001 and has since then released music primarily through Blue Note Records. She has also been associated with the likes of Billie Joe Armstrong, The Little Willies and Wax Poetic.
Jones is the daughter of sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar and Sue Jones. Her solo career kicked off in 2002 when she released her popular and critically praised debut album, Come Away with Me. A fusion of country and pop and jazz, it was certified diamond in no time and has since then, sold twenty six million copies.
Her debut album won her five Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and the Record of the Year.
Norah Jones's next three albums; Feels Like Home, Not Too Late and The Fall were all certified platinum, after selling more than a million copies each. They were also highly praised by critics. In 2012, she released the album Little Broken Hearts. Overall Jones has won nine Grammy Awards so far. Jones is also one of the artists on Billboard's Artists of the 2000-2009 Decade Chart, as well as the Billboard Top Jazz Artist of the Decade.
Norah Jones's album Feel Like Home, which was certified platinum soon after release, has gone on to sell more than twelve million copies worldwide. She has also been ranked on the Time 100 list and has also collaborated with Ray Charles in a Grammy Award winning record. Her third album, Not Too Late, similarly sold more than four million copies and had the third best week sales in 2007. During the same year, she also played her first role in a movie, My Blueberry Nights with Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz.
Her fourth album, which was released in 2009, sold more than one hundred and eighty thousand copies in the first week of release. It was followed by performances on Good Morning America, The Late Show with David Letterman and Dancing with the Stars. This album was also certified platinum and was followed by her fourth World Tour.

Dobson first performed with Norah Jones during the latter's The Fall tour and played the percussions and guitar, along with singing. She was released her second album Aquarius in 2013.
Dobson is also a member of Puss n Boots, a trio made up of Norah Jones, Catherine Popper and herself. Their first album is set to be released in 2014.
Born to a musical family, Dobson's father was a pianist who played for Mark Murphy and Bobby Hutcherson. Her mother is also a singer and her brother is a vibraphonist and drummer.
