Yelawolf Cities
Hailing from Gadsden, Alabama, Yelawolf is among some of the most promising hip hop acts of our time. He made his way in to the music industry back in 2005 when he released his debut mixtape by the name of Pissn' in a Barrel of Beez. Later that year, Yelawolf also came up with his debut album called Creek Water, which mostly went unnoticed. Two years later he signed a record deal with Columbia and after the release of his single Kickin, he was dropped from the label before he could even release his album.
In 2009, he started working on yet another mixtape called Trunk Muzik along with the producer WillPower. The mixtape was released in 2010, and it garnered a large number of online following for the rapper. After the success of Trunk Muzik, Yelawolf listenership grew larger, and Yelawolf tickets started to sell for his live performances. Later on, he also scored a record deal with Interscope Records after which his mixtape was re-released with the title of Trunk Muzik 0-60. After the major label release of the mixtape, it has become Yelawolf's most successful released work to date.
In 2011, Yelawolf signed a record deal with Eminem's record label, Shady Records. He was also featured on the cover of XXL along with Eminem and his fellow Shady Records signees, Slaughterhouse. In the same year, he also released a couple of songs on magazine's yearly Freshmen mixtape. With Shady Records, Yelawolf release his debut single called Hard White (Up in the Club), which was also the leadoff single from his Shady Records debut, Radioactive. The second single from the album was titled Let's Roll which also featured Kid Rock.
Prior to the release of the album, Radioactive received 4.5 out of 5 mics from The Source Magazine, which is quite rare. With ratings as such, the anticipation of the album was further increased while the album came out on November 21, 2011 on Shady and Interscope Records. The album was produced by Eminem himself and several others while it peaked at #27 on the Billboard 200. It also featured vocals by Kid Rock, Eminem, Fefe Dobson, Lil Jon, Mystikal, Rittz, Shawty Fatt, Gangsta Boo, Killer Mike and several others.
In 2012 Yelawolf also collaborated with a British singer Ed Sheeran on a song called You Don't Know. The song was a part of an E.P called The Slumdon Bridge on which he collaborated with Sheeran. The E.P was released in February 2012 as a free download, however later a retail release of the E.P was also made on Warner Music. Also in 2012, Yelawolf also worked with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker on an EP called Pyscho White. The E.P gained massive anticipation and its first track was released in September 2012, titled Push 'Em. The E.P itself was released in November 2012, and sold 11,000 copies in its first week of sales.
On March 20, 2012, Yelawolf announced that he will be working on his second studio album on Shady Records called Love Story. Furthermore, it was also announced that he will also be releasing a sequel to his Trunk Muzik mixtape called Trunk Muzik Returns. The lead single from the Trunk Muzik Returns was called Way Out and the mixtape was announced to be released in 2013. The mixtape comprises of ten tracks and features vocals from Paul Wall, ASAP Rocky, Raekwon and Killer Mike.
As for his upcoming album, he will be recording it in Nashville and will finish it up in Detroit along with Eminem. The album will be produced by WillPower. Before the album could come out, Yelawolf will be taking his act up on the road with a string of live performances. He'll be making stops at various venues with his fellow musicians. So catch him live in your city with Yelawolf tickets.
