The Nutcracker has become a Christmas holiday tradition in the US over the years. The story of the show follows Clara, a young girl, who is gifted a nutcracker by her Uncle on the Christmas Eve. The stage is set in St. Petersburg, Russia where ambassadors and their families gather to celebrate the holiday festivities. As the clock strikes midnight, the house and the nutcracker transform magically taking Clara along. The Rat King and his armies attack the toy soldiers' army led by the nutcracker prince. Clara helps and fights the Rat King till he is defeated. As they come out victorious, her nutcracker prince takes her through the enchanted Snow Forest to the Land of the Sweets.
