Beginning of the Journey
Born in Sweden, Snoh Aalegra discovered her singing voice during her childhood years and soon signed an artist development deal with Sony Music Sweden in 2001. She then started to hit the studio where Aalegra was encouraged to work with music producers who helped in developing her voice and sound. After being associated with the record label for many years, she decided to part ways without releasing any music but gained an invaluable experience regarding the industry's insights.
In 2009, Snoh Alaegra signed with Universal Music Sweden and began to work on her debut studio album, 'First Sign' which came out a year later under the mononym Sheri. The record was received well in her native Sweden, allowing her establish a loyal fan base. It was also supported by singles, Hit and Run, First Sign, U Got Me Good and Smooth Operator. The third song from the list generated some buzz as it landed at the second spot on the Swedish Single Charts.
Making Efforts
In July of 2014, Sehri changed her stage name to Snoh Aalegra and worked with Common on his song, Hustle Harder which appeared on his album, 'Nobody's Smiling.' She was later signed by Epic Records which issued her first extended play, 'There Will Be Sunshine' on November 14, 2014. This EP contained six songs including one with Common titled Bad Things. The following year, she put out another single, Emotional before her second EP, 'Don't Explain' hit the stores on April 8, 2016. It was composed of nine tracks out of which two of them were released as singles titled, Under the Influence and In Your River.
Gaining Some Traction
Snoh Aalegra started to gain some traction in the United States when she released her first studio album, 'Feels' on October 20, 2017. The record was approved by the fans and featured a couple of collaborative tracks, Nothing Burns Like the Cold with Vince Staples and Sometimes with Logic. She then followed it up by putting out two more singles, Home (Remix) which featured a guest verse from Logic and Out of Your Way which included a guest appearance from Luke James.
On August 16, 2019 Snoh Aalegra dropped her follow-up studio album, 'Ugh, those feels again' which entered the Billboard 200 for the first time and landed at the 73rd spot. It also gave four singles out of which, I Want You Around climbed the nineteenth spot on the Swedish Single Charts.
