Hailing from Bronx, Camp Lo is a rap band with a musical style that blends jazz sensibilities with hip-hop and funk. After their 1996 hit song, "Coolie High" from the soundtrack of The Great White Hype the duo came up with its record "Uptown Saturday Night" in 1997. The record was highly acclaimed for its jazz and funk inspired music and smooth content. It was followed by the band's tour in its support. Consisting of members Geechi Suede and Sonny Cheeba, the duo is once again setting off on a tour across North American. War Memorial Auditorium in Greensboro, NC has been included to their touring schedule, where they will perform on March 7, 2014. The venue accommodates 1,661 people and is popular among artists and audiences alike. Many famous bands have performed here in the past, and now this hip-hop band will be taking up the stage for an exciting musical show. Camp Lo tickets are selling at affordable rates currently.
Camp Lo was formed in 1995 by two rappers of Muslim upbringing. It is best known for its hit from 1997, "Luchini AKA This Is It." The single entered Top 50 Billboard Hot 100 list and reached fifth spot on the Hot Rap Singles chart. The single also peaked at number 74 on UK Singles Chart. After releasing their debut album and receiving rave reviews, the duo came up with its second record "Let's Do It Again" in 2002. In 2007, Camp Lo made its return to the music scene with their third album, "Black Hollywood". The record was produced in collaboration with the duo's earlier producer, Ski Beatz. Just like any other rapper, Camp Lo also uses plenty of slang in the songs because it is considered as a hip-hop fashion. This album with twelve tracks brilliantly displays the harmony between Ski and Camp Lo. The album spawned songs like "Soul Fever", in which the clear, combined vocals of the two rappers can be heard.
Apart from their duets, they also collaborate with other artists such as De la Soul, who made a guest appearance on their debut record, along with Digable Planets. In addition to that, Camp Lo appeared on the track "Poppin' That Fly" by Oran "Juice" Jones. The two joined ventures with De La Soul again in 2000 on the number "So Good". In 2011, Camp Lo changed its name to '80 Blocks from Tiffany's' in order to work on a collaborative album with Pete Rock. In an interview, they talked about their Bronx-influenced collaborative record, stating that the album will sweep the fans off their feet. Camp Lo is bringing its best songs to the listeners in a live setting this time around. Fans seem pretty excited to catch the live performance by the duo, and much to their delight, Camp Lo tickets have gone up for sale.
