George Strait can unarguably be counted among the biggest legends of country genre with forty-four chart-topping singles, which is more success than any artist has yet had. The maestro first came to prominence in 1981 with Unwound that became an instant hit among country lovers while peaking at number six on the Billboard's Hot Country Singles. The artist has since been continuously making records and performing live. He is currently playing the second leg of his extensive Cowboy Rides Away Tour across North America with his touring band, Ace in the Hole. Each of his tour weekends will be featuring a special guest such as Lee Ann Womack, Miranda Lambert, Merie Haggard, Ronnie Dunn, Sheryl Crow, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Little Big town, among several others. Many of his shows will be featuring country singer-songwriter Martina McBride, who is well known for her soprano range and big-voiced ballads. George Strait & Martina McBride tickets are a particular favorite among country fans who want to enjoy the two country artists together.
George Strait & Martina McBride have hit the road very frequently for their tours of North America, among other regions. Strait has not only established himself as a touring legend but has also undertaken extensive country music events such as his George Strait Country Festival. This festival was begun in 1997 and was headlined by various artists like Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney. Though the festival did not perform twice in the same market, it was still estimated to be among the top ten grossing tours of 1998. By 2009, it was announced to have been the most important event in country music history according to popular demand. It was also noted for being the nineties' best selling tour of the country music category.
McBride has been an active live performer whose headlining tours include Greatest Hits, Joy of Christmas, Waking Up Laughing and Timeless. She has also co-headlined various tours including Shine All Night with Trace Adkins; Girls Night Out with Jamie O' Neal, Sara Evans, Reba McEntire and Carolyn Dawn Johnson; Lilith Fair with Saran McLachlan; and Virginia Slims on Legends with Barbara Mandrell, Regina Belle and Gladys Knight. The artist has also been a supporting act on tours headlined by Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and of course George Strait. In fact, McBride was the opening act of the first leg of Strait's current tour, and the two made quite an incredible country music team. Her earlier tours with Strait include the 2012 Eleven Tour, which she co-headlined with him, and another one in 2011-2012, on which she was Strait's supporting act.
The two have won much critical praise and accolades. In November 2013, Strait was honored as Billboard's Legend of Live at the magazine's tenth annual Touring Awards ceremony. He is the first among country singers to receive the magazine's most prestigious touring accolade. Upon accepting it, the artist revealed that he started touring more than three decades back, after signing with MCA records. Impressively, this year Strait was also honored with a CMA Award in the category of Entertainer of the Year. The supporting act on his current tour, McBride has also received significant critical acclaim in the recent past including a nomination for the 2013 ACM Award for the category of Top Female Vocalist. In 2012, the artist was nominated for several American Country Award categories including Female Artist for the Year, Single by Female Artist, and Music Video by Female Artist. The same year she also made headlines for her Grammy and CMA Award nominations in the respective categories of Best Country Solo Performance and Female Vocalist for the Year.
