Carol Burnett was a popular name during the 70s due to her hosting of the most popular TV show, The Carol Burnett Show which was a variety show consisting of song, dance and comedy. With regular cast members Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, Lyle Waggoner and then Tim Conway, the show featured Burnett in slapstick parody of celebrities, distinguishing characters and movies. That year proved to be her lucky year as she also received rave reviews for her Broadway performance in a musical comedy, "Once upon a Mattress". It was a time when she was making headlines quite frequently and her popularity graph was constantly on the rise. In 1962 Carol co-starred with Julie Andrews on the Emmy award winning special Julie and Carol at - - later became Carol's husband. The popular The Carol Burnett Show debuted in 1967 on CBS and ran till 1978 garnering wide acclaim and numerous Emmys. Her other guest appearance was on the TV show, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2009. It got her nominated for the Emmy in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. In addition to Emmy awards, Burnett has also grabbed Golden Globe Awards for her performance in The Carol Burnett Show. Most recently, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver put forward Carol Burnett as a 2009 California Hall of Fame candidate. Age doesn't stop her.
