CanadaFest will be returning to the Jobing.com Arena this March. Keeping the festival's tradition alive, many artists of different genres have been invited to perform. The festival is a celebration for the Canadians in America. "The largest Francophone festival in the United States", the event is held every year and an attendance of 150,000 was recorded last time. The objective of the festival is to entertain residents as well as Canadian tourists in the US. The upcoming festival will feature three Canadian classic rock groups including Loverboy, Bachman & Turner and Trooper as special guest. With fast-selling Canadafest tickets it is expected that the upcoming festival will be packed as well.
During the festival, audiences will hear popular songs like "Takin' Care of Business", "Roll on Down the Highway" and "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" among many others as these bands bring their music to stage. These three bands will be entertaining the crowd, performing their greatest hits.
Canadian rock band Loverboy was formed in 1979 and in 1980, it came up with its self-released debut record. All through the 80s, the group produced several hit songs. Loverboy instantly became one of the most popular rock groups in America. Over the years, the ensemble has released four multi-platinum and many international Gold records, selling millions of copies. The hit singles of the band include "Working for the Weekend" and "Turn Me Loose". Both became very popular and are still heard on several radio channels. Whenever the band tours, it sells out venues across the nation. Having released hits after hits, Loverboy quickly established itself as a successful band. Loverboy is driven by the lead singer Mike Reno's powerful vocals and guitarist Paul Dean's relentless rock groove. It also comprises of the drummer Matt Frenette, Scott Smith as bassist and Doug Johnson on the keyboards.
During the early years of its inception, Loverboy played on mega tours with other artists like Bob Seger, Journey, ZZ Top and Cheap Trick. The band came up with its second album, "Get Lucky" in 1981 featuring songs like "Working For The Weekend", "Only The Lucky Ones", and "When It's Over" among others. This album and massive touring success of Loverboy led the group to win six Juno Awards. In 1983, the band came up with its third record, "Keep It Up" and embarked on another world tour to support it. In this upcoming festival, Loverboy will bring all its greatest hits to stage.
Due to fans' high demand, rock n' roll superstars, Fred Turner and Randy Bachman are reuniting after two decades for a live performance. The two musicians are getting ready to tour as Bachman & Turner. The band has released its first new song "Rollin' Along," in twenty years. The single offers listeners a glimpse into the duo's self-titled album to be released in September. Other numbers from the album are "Slave To the Rhythm" and "Rock and Roll Is the Only Way Out". This reunion has excited the musicians and Randy stated in an interview, "I'm thrilled to be working on new music with Fred, and I feel a sense of excitement and anticipation."
