Details of Qwest Center and the Ticket Luck value
Qwest Center
Apart from being an arena, a convention center, namely the Qwest Center Omaha -- located in Omaha, Nebraska, United States – occupies an area of 1.1million square feet area and accommodates over 18,300 people. In addition to this, it also has 194,000 square feet of exhibition hall and 62,000 square feet of meeting area.
So far till now, this specific arena has hosted various genre events, which encompass several basketball games, hockey games and concerts, over and above, the annual shareholder meeting for Berkshire Hathaway.
In 2000, Omaha voters officially agreed for a $216 million budget financed in order to construct a new convention center and arena; the remainder of the $291 million project was granted by private firms and individuals. The naming rights to the arena were procured by Qwest; thus, consequently, the Qwest Center Omaha opened in September 2003, comprising of an original seating capacity of 17,000 for concerts, 15,500 for basketball, and 14,700 for hockey.
A $5.7-million allotted for extension of the Qwest Center arena by approximately 1,500 seats commenced in May 2006 and reached completion in September, the same year.
After completing its seating expansion project, The Qwest Center Omaha Arena successfully accommodated an addition of 1,518 spectators of the upper bowl during the summer of 2006, consequently, increasing the number of seats to 17,560 for basketball, 16,680 for hockey and up to 18,300 for concerts.
Since its inauguration, it has maintained consistency in keeping a rank among the "Top 20 Ticket Selling Arena in the World", as reported by Pollstar Magazine
So far Record-breaking sellouts hitherto include Paul McCartney in 14 minutes, Kenny Chesney in 16 minutes, the Rolling Stones in 26 minutes and U2 in 33 minutes.
With 32 Luxury Suites and 1,110 Club Seats, it is truly a complete luxurious place for a pleasant stay.
In addition, it is also home of Creighton, University Bluejays men's basketball team, and also of home of University of Nebraska at Omaha Mavericks men's hockey team.
The extent of its vastness can be well estimated that a six-story building could be placed inside the Arena.
An eight-sided Daktronics scoreboard in the middle of the Arena cost more than $2 million.
The Arena floor can be altered from a hockey rink to a basketball court in one hour, with convenience.
