Embassy Theatre
Embassy Theatre is one of the very popular historic theatres on Indiana, United States. It is located in Front Wayne, Indiana, in line with the famous Indiana Hotel.

Embassy Theatre in the Yesteryears
Embassy Theatre was built in the year 1928 as the Emboyd Theatre. It was originally constructed as a movie theatre and was also the home to Vaudeville Productions, which was the most famous production company of that time.
The chief architect who gave the architectural design of the Embassy Theatre was John Eberson. The Emboyd Theatre in collaboration with the Vaudeville Productions produced some magnificent performances of the century.
Both the Emboyd Theatre and the Vaudeville enjoyed the acme of success with each other. The success scene ended in 1952 when the adjacent Indiana Hotel and the Emboyd Theatre was sold to the Alliance Amusement Company.
The Alliance Amusement Company changed Emboyd Theatre"s name to Embassy Theatre and converted it into a movie cinema.
In 1972, some volunteers gathered under the leadership of Robert Goldstein and establish the Embassy Theatre Foundation to preserve the Embassy Theatre Building and its possessions.
This foundation stated "Save the Embassy" campaign and was successful in raising much amount that would stop it from demolition. The theatre was saved and the leaders of the campaign continued raising political and philanthropic awareness for the theatre.
Buddy Nolan played a very important part in the restoration of the Embassy Theatre by giving musical performances for it"s fund raising.
Another major renovation of the Embassy Theatre took place in the year 2005 when a new marquee was installed at the theatre. This marquee was a mixture of older and modern touch with a digital display. This renewal process lasted till 2006.
Renovations at the Embassy Theatre
Major renovations at the Embassy Theatre started in 1995 after its restoration. Year "95 refurbishing included expansion of the stage to make it well-equipped and up-to-the-mark for international touring companies.
The number and quality of the theatre"s seating was also improves. Indiana Hotel became part of this renovation process too.
Embassy Theatre and the Great Page
The most prominent feature of the Embassy Theatre is the 1100-pipes great Page theatre organ. The organ was lovingly nicknamed as "Miss Page". The great Page was not used during its conversion into a movie theatre.
Buddy Nolan was one of the people who tried to cope with this depressing situation as the guardian of the organ. During the 1950" to 1960"s, Nolan continued the restoration of the organ by playing it on mid-night shows which gathered a lot of funds and crowd to the Embassy Theatre. With the undying efforts of the Embassy Theatre volunteers, the Great Pipe was restored between 1976 and 1996.
Performers, Performances and Great Events at the Embassy Theatre
The Embassy Theatre was re-opened 1975. Since then it has been home to some great actors and magnificent performances. Perry Como; Lawrence Welk; Louis Armstrong; Tony Bennett; Chico Marx; Doris Day; Duke Ellington; Cab Calloway; Donald O"Connor; Marilyn Maxwell; Red Skelton; Victor Borge; and Artie Shaw were the stars that shined at the Embassy Theatre since it was established. The theatre is also a place for Broadway productions and
"The Festival of Trees" is one of the very famous events that happened in the walls of the Embassy Theatre. It was first held in 1985 and raised much amount for the restoration of the Embassy Theatre. Since then the Festival of Trees is celebrated every year with a great number of people attending it.
