The ballet features Joshua Steele assuming the role of Peter Pan. Joining this actor will be Wayne Wright, who will play the evil Captain Hook. Apart from these main characters, there will be actors assuming the roles of pirates and other exotic creatures that were a part of the original movie. The ballet, whose producer is Kathy Beiting is the musical version of the original play that was written by Sir James M. Barrie. He was a dramatist and was famous for his creation of Peter Pan. Apart from writing this play, he also wrote “A Kiss for Cinderella”, “Mary Rose” and “the Old Lady Shows Her Medals”. Barrie's play has been directed by Skip Fenker, who recently won the BroadwayWorld Cincinnati Award for “Best Direction of Musical”. Apart from this, the numbers included in the musical have been choreographed by Septime Webre. These include a score by the Tony Award nominated lyricist, Carolyn Leigh, who also wrote the eminent song, “Young at Heart.” She has contributed a lot to Broadway and film industry; hence in 1985, her name was inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The flying effects for the musical to be presented by Cincinnati Ballet have been created by ZFX, Inc. The company has been providing these services for many other musicals, which include Wizard of Oz and Wicked. On the other hand, the Casa Manana version of the ballet tells the same story with its own actors, music and set design. Peter Pan Ballet has been playing at different venues across the globe.
