We Are Harlot or more commonly called the Harlots, is a super group from Los Angeles, California. Prior to coming together as Harlots, all the group member belonged to successful bands. The lineup of Harlots consists of Brian Weaver who was the bassist of 'Silvertide', Bruno Agra drummer of the band 'Revolution Renaissance' and guitarist Jeff George who played for the Canadian heavy metal singer 'Sebastian Bach'.
It was Jeff George and Danny Worsnop, the former lead singer of the band 'Asking Alexandria' who brought the members together. Worsnop worked with his band, 'Asking Alexandria,' on the album From Death to Destiny, which peaked in the US at number five and at number one on the Top Hard Rock Albums.
The band gave its first live performance in 2014, at the annual Rock on the Range festival. At the festival they announced that they were working on their debut album. After their initial performance, the band was invited to play at the annual Rocklahoma festival. They were also called in as a support act for the band 'The Pretty Reckless' and performed at the famous Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Although, We Are Harlot got together in 2011, they made rock music fans anxiously wait for three years, before coming up with the first official single. The single, titled "Denial" was released in 2014 and was immediately picked up by WWE's flagship Monday Night Raw, to be the main theme song. Their first single was followed by "Dancing On Nails" which was released early in 2015. The second single came with the announcement that the band would be releasing their first self-titled album in March. 'Dancing On Nails' was a very successful release by the band; it peaked at the fifteenth spot on The US Mainstream Rock chart.
The album 'We Are Harlots' sold five thousand copies during the first weeks of its release in the US. This album managed to feature in the UK and US charts. While it reached one hundred and sixty five in the US charts, it did much better in the UK, landing at fifty eight. The lead singer Danny Worsnop also made an announcement about his departure from his previous band, 'Asking Alexandria', committing fully to the Harlots.
We Are Harlots have a signature music style. They use guitar solos abundantly and interject bluesy keyboards to give their music a feel of the eighties. That is exactly what the band aims to be; a modern re-creation of the eighties rock and roll.
The quartet cites Aerosmith and Van Halen as their musical idols and influences. The song "Never Turn Back" has guitar solos which perhaps have a slight reflection of their musical heroes. "Flying Too Close To The Sun" has a pretty awesome bass line that makes the song stand out from the rest. Their music certainly has the old school feel to it, along with being catchy.
The best thing about the band is that it comprises four very diverse members. Bruno Agra hails from Brzail, while Danny Worsop is a British. George used to play music for a Canadian artist and Weaver was part of a band formed in Philadelphia. When these distinct personalities and their creative influences merge, they produce exceptional music.
