Details of Twista and the Ticket Luck value
Carl Terrell Mitchell, better known by his stage name Twista, is an American hip-hop emcee who once held the title of fastest emcee in the world. According to the Guinness World Records in 1992, he set a record by pronouncing 11.2 syllables per second. After the success of his number-one Billboard Hot 100 single Slow Jamz, Twistas 2004 album Kamikaze went to number-one on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart.
Born on November 27, 1973, Twista grew up on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. He was the oldest of four children in a low-income family with a strict mother and drug-addicted stepfather.
In order to support his family, Twista began working at an early age. To be an escape from the violent environment he felt in his neighborhood, Twista found the hip hop culture. In 1992, he came up with his debut album, he called it Runnin' Off at da Mouth The album was also Loud Records first release.
It was released after Twista made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's fastest emcee. Runnin Off at da Mouth spawned number of singles which got off to positive reviews. Some of those included No Peace Sign and Mista Tung Twista.
Followed to the released of Runnin Off at da Mouth, Twista issued his second album entitled Resurrection. Resurrection was his first album in the name Twista, formerly Tung Twista. The album was not released in some places on Chicago but was leaked and could be downloaded. In 1997, the rap artists Twista put together another album, Adrenaline Rush.
This third album was released under the pseudonym of Tung Twista. Adrenaline Rush had guest artists: Johnny P, Liffy Stokes, Miss Kane, Malif, Mayze, and Turtle Banxx. It too spawned several hit tracks. The first single off the album was Get It Wet which, with very little airplay or radio play outside the midwest, went Gold.
Adrenaline Rush was considered by many fans as Twista's best album. The following year, the Chicago rap artist Twista, together with the Speedknot Mobstaz released another hip hop album called Mobstability. Speedknot Mobstaz featured Liffy Stokes and Mayz. Mobstability featured guest artists, Newsense, Danny Boy, Christopher Williams, and Shock The World.
The albums track In Your World appeared on the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack. Continuing gaining momentum, Twista released his fifth album entitled Kamikaze. The album reached the top of the US Billboard 200 album charts in early 2004 based on the success of the lead single Slow Jamz. The song was released on January 27, 2004.
American rapper Twista released another full length album entitled The Day After in October 2005 via Atlantic Records. The album was also released in a clean version, however it only removed profanity and some drug references. Audiences were also presented with a version chopped and screwed by Paul Wall, The Day After (Chopped & Screwed).
The entire clean edition of The Day After contained violent lyrics throughout. The editors also missed an f-word in the opening track. The day After went platinum and was received to mixed reviews. The Day After debuted at number 2 with about 129,000 copies sold.
Released in 2005 was an EP by Twister called 2 for 10. This EP is exclusively available at BestBuy and iTunes. The American rap artist Twister released his seventh studio album entitled Adrenaline Rush 2007. The album was released on September 18, 2007 while the 2007 in the title references the ten year passed since Adrenaline Rush.
The albums first official single was Give It Up, featuring Pharrell. Adrenaline Rush 2007s second track was Creep Fast (Feat. T-Pain). The professional review from XXL stated that the content of commercial and raw talent is a good mix.
Twisters album Adrenaline Rush 2007 debuted at number 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 41,000 copies in its first week. This was markedly poorer than the first week performance of The Day After though.
Adrenalin Rush 2007 also dropped off the charts quickly, falling to number 48 in its second week with 18,000 copies sold. To date, the album has sold 191,000 copies, a pale comparison to the platinum status of Kamikaze (album). This album is considered by some to be the most disappointing hip-hop album from an established rapper to date.
Chicago-based rappers Twista and his crew, the Speedknot Mobstaz (Liffy Stokes & Mayz) released a sophomore album, they called it Mobstability II: Nation Bizness.
The album has been released on May 27th 2008; featured guest appearances include Jim Jones, Mello Tha Gudda Mann & Toxic. Mobstability II: Nation Biznesss first buzz-singles were Gangstaz Don't Dance (produced by Drumma Boy) and Money N Murda, while the official first single was Money To Blow, with a video already out.
