Steven Curtis Chapman is a name that everyone who listens to Christian music knows. With his wife Mary Beth providing inspiration, Steven's crafted an album titled 'All About Love', an attractively honest album that is clearly not a collection of traditional love songs. The album is the musically diverse and lyrically profound.
Stephen Curtis Chapman's list of accomplishments include more than 50 Dove Awards, 5 Grammys, an American Music Award, 2 certified platinum and 10 gold albums. He also received 51 Gospel Music Association Awards, more than any other artist in history.
Chapman has sold over 10 million total albums and his 41 singles became number 1 radio hits.What Chapman knows well today is through the growth of his family and his growing heart for international outreach. He is a huge advocate for adoption; so much so that his family has established Shaohannahs Hope.
Shaohannahs Hope is an organization that provides information and financial grants to families who want to adopt. He together with his wife has adopted three children from China.
In 1992, Chapman had a successful leap with his album titled 'The Great Adventure'. Not only he entered into mainstream popularity but also got two more Grammys for the album. After Sparrow Records was taken over by EMI/Liberty, they began to market the record to a broader audience.
This campaign pushed 'The Great Adventure' to gold status in 1993. The success of the album prompted Steven Curtis to record one of his concerts and release it as The Live Adventure. This exercise won Chapman more GMA Awards.
Chapman continued producing albums which in return earned him worldwide attention, success and fame as well as made him fans' the most favourite. He spawned a hit after hit like 'Heaven in the Real World', 'Signs of Life', and 'Speechless'.
In 2001, with the release of 'Declaration', Chapman began to gather more attention in the Top 200. 'Declaration', along with 2002's 'All About Love', reached in the Top 15. The following 'All Things New', was ranked number 22 on music charts.
In addition to these albums, Steven released three exclusive Christmas albums, beginning with 1995's 'The Music of Christmas'. This album was followed by a re-release of 'The Music of Christmas' in 2004.
In 2005, he released 'All I Really Want for Christmas'. In the Christian video game Dance Praise, Steven Curtis Chapman's four songs were included. These were 'All About Love', 'Dive', 'Live Out Loud', and 'Only Getting Started'.
Chapman would go on tour to several Asian countries in 2006. He did first ever Christian concerts for U.S. troops serving in South Korea.
Having performed in Asian countries, Steven Curtis flew to Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Singapore. During the course, his song 'The Blessing' ranked number one on Thailand radio charts. Dive proved to be a number hit.
In 2007, Chapman embarked on Newsong's annual Winter Jam tour with Jeremy Camp. He also brought his sons' band called 'The Following', out on tour to play as his backing band.
In October 2007, Chapman once again hit the music industry with his blockbuster record title 'This Moment'. He continues to tour for the 'Live In This Moment Tour' to collect donations for a local family needed to complete an adoption. On April 20, 2008, Steven was awarded a star on Nashville's Walk of Fame for his outstanding contributions in Christian music.
