Pictures in Pieces came into existence in late 2005 when Chris Barrett along with his close friends teamed up to form a pop band, which fabricated the most killer lineups to ever emerge from Virginia. Combining aggressive drumming, smashing guitar play, and graceful lyrics, energy and rhythm is what helped Pictures in Pieces emerge as the band of the new generation.
Chris Barrett, who had left Stars Hide Fire, was in hunt for a massive project of his own. Stephen Lucas quit from Your Last Collapse, which was a bad experience for him, got together with Chris Barrett who also his early days friend, to work on a venture that turned out to be a great hit. Joined by Stephen Lucas, Chris produced few songs, before they started attempting for a complete lineup.
Andy Tudor on rhythm guitar, Chirs Lorenzen on bass and Jess Stern on lead guitar, Picture in Pieces turned out to be a potentially capable enough to produce quality pop music. Chris Barrett's vision for music helped the band to arrange music that not only conveyed the beat but also proved the dedication and passion the band had for music. Stephen Lucas's versatile vocal capabilities that lets him belt out lyrics at full force, backed by drummer Chris Barrett, who synchronizes with Lucas with highly harmonized and technical precision, were the keys to the band's success. Picture in Pieces had their own plan for playing music that actually deviated from conventional taste, which brought aggression and vibrant feel in their looks and music.
Picture in Pieces was able to release its debut EP ?The Wake', in early 2006, which received mixed response. By following Do It Yourself approach, the band succeeded in selling thousand plus copies without the support of a label. It is to be noted that ?The Wake' was entirely self-produced and distributed by the band; which means that the group had the potential to work tough and produce the musical wonders.
The EP kicks the start with a power guitar riff and Lucas' voice delivering into the first verse of The Wake. Single is empowered by wordy lyrics along with choruses to a guitar solo, makes splendor combination of musical art that ends up with good climax. These rush lyrical and choruses' style that heavily demands the audiences' participation is experienced throughout the EP.
Heavy instrumental and rocky work is seen with Make It Out, that was released in 2007, yet the band managed to stick with the pop world with oh-ohs or whoa-os for backup vocals. The EP gives itself an end with The Blinded, a very lively and guitar occupied song.
In its debutant play, Picture in Pieces clearly gave its entire energy to its work. Picture in Pieces lifted itself with the help of a self-booked tour in mid 2006 where it managed to perform live and see their fans face to face for the first time. Picture in Pieces outshined others particularly in live performances. In an interview Lucas expressed as saying, Its very important to us that we make a personal connection with people, says Lucas, Our live show thrives on that, whether it's 5 people or 500. The band has ability to get the audience wholly involved in their shows not only mentally and physically but spiritually as well.
Equipped with appealing, driving hooks and rhythmic beats, Pictures in Pieces is strongly competing to bring its strength to the music, as their debut album is released in result of a deal that Picture in Pieces signed with Saturday Team Records, the band is looking forward to a massive success of their EP. Picture in Pieces' fans are crazy for their music. They consider the pop band's symbol as more patent than anything else in the history. Their European fans want them to fly Europe for a jam pack thundering performance.
