Midwest Music Fest has been developed with the idea of making Louisville a hub of live entertainment within the region. Event venues like the Palace Theatre, Freedom Hall and Louisville Gardens have been staging live performances of top tier artists like these, and Midwest Music Festival is expected to join the ranks by becoming an annual event.
The first day of the Midwest Music Fest will have Charlie Wilson or Uncle Charlie taking the stage with his R&B hits like There Goes My Baby, My Love is All I Have, You Are and I Still Have You. Joining him on day one will be Chaka Khan who is also cited to be the Queen of Funk. This ten-time Grammy Award winner has been in the music industry since 1972 and over the decades she has ventured into various genres like Soul, Pop, Gospel and R&B. Khan is known for her hits like I'm Every Woman, and Do You Love What You Feel.
Famous for his hit singles like Boomerang, and Rock, Lyfe Jennings is a multi-platinum selling artist who came into the mainstream music scene back in 2003. Apart from being a commercially successful studio artist, Jennings is also praised as a live performer. Ginuwine will also share the stage on Midwest Music Fest day one. Ginuwine is a celebrated multiplatinum selling artist who rose to mainstream popularity back in the 1990s.
The lineup of day two of the festival will showcase 10-time Grammy Award winning R&B sensation, Babyface. Over the course of his career, Babyface has had twenty six number one hit singles including hits like Don't Be Cruel, Slow Jam and Whip Appeal. Proclaimed as the Queen of R&B, Toni Braxton will also perform live on day two. The six-time Grammy Award winner has had several hit singles in her own right and is one of the bestselling female R&B artists of all time. And that is not it, fans of R&B music will also get to listen to Anthony Hamilton live at this year's Midwest Music Fest. Known for his hits like Charlene and Freedom, Anthony Hamilton has enjoyed commercial and critical success with albums like Point of it All and Back to Love. Also on day two, the stage will be shared by KeKe Wyatt and Avant, both of whom have had celebrated hit R&B singles over the years.
