Background and Initial Works
Courtney Cole had an inborn musical talent that convinced her to move to Nashville at an early age. She took off with a brief spell of theatre performances in Nashville at the age of 11 and was soon competing with contemporaries on famous talent shows. Originally a graduate of the Belmont University, Cole made her first musical appearance at the Orleans Parish Educators Convention in 2002 where she opened for Mavis Staples and Billy Preston. Having a commercial music degree helped Cole snag some brilliant performance opportunities at the city's prestigious music venues.
Courtney Cole performed at the New Orleans Hall of Fame induction ceremony that was organized in the honor of Fats Dominos. She also had a stint with the Wardell Quezergue's Big Band and was the featured artist at the NFL "Monday Night Football" show in Superdome. In 2002 the talented Cole participated in the celebrations of a basketball tournament titled "Nokia Sugar Bowl". She has also performed alongside renowned artists Sarah Darling and Jeff Bates.
Associations and Recent Performances
The 24-year old Courtney Cole expanded her singing endeavors and was associated with commercial entities like Coca Cola, the Wal-Mart Corporation and Jostens Corporation. She is often described as an artist who never lets go of her roots. With her deep-rooted love for her hometown, the devoted songstress is known for her musical associations with the Louisiana Tourist Commission, the Louisiana Education Department and Blue Cross of Louisiana.
Alongside her one-time performance spells, Cole consistently participated in talent competitions and local pageants. She was a finalist at the Miss Teen Louisiana Pageant for three consecutive years starting 2003 and even managed to land a coveted spot amongst the top 10 at the Miss Louisiana Pageant. The lucky young girl sang at the Chris Owens' Annual Easter Parade at the French Quarter in New Orleans as a featured artist. The fact that she entered the third round of American Idol's Season 7 and performed in front of the legendary Simon Cowell, bears testimony to her outstanding vocal talents.
CMT's Next Superstar
Courtney Cole still hadn't achieved the commercial breakthrough she had been looking for at Nashville. In 2011, Cole luckily landed onto America's famous music talent show by the CMT. The episodic competition had 10 chapters featuring underground singers and songwriters in the country music genre. The competitors were to reside together at Nashville and were to be guided by celebrity guests every week. Each episode involved an elimination based on the decision of the celebrity judges as well as Matt Serletic, who was a permanent judge at the show. Cole premiered at the show with a wowing cover of Beyonce's song "Irreplaceable" and her performance was marked by confidence and individuality that immediately impressed the audience. Her bubbly personality and distinct voice earned her a slot amongst the top 5 and even though she got eliminated in the sixth episode, Cole had managed to earn a huge fan following on the social media.

The gifted artist now works as a staff writer at the Black River Entertainment, which is a musician management company in Nashville. She is hugely influenced by stars like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston and aspires to earn a reputation that these singers command.
