Presented to you by Irie Ham Radio in partnership with Caribbean Fever Inc., Caribbean music film festival is going to be premier celebration which will last for three days. Irie Jam Radio, the presenter of this festival, is the best source of Caribbean entertainment. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Irie Jam Radio is bringing the most popular Caribbean names and iconic stars in the spotlight at the Barclays Center. The aim of this festival is to bring the real Caribbean spirit to you in the form of music and hip-hop sounds of the Caribbean Islands.
The festival consists of three themed nights namely International Night, Carnival Mania Night and Reggae Night. The official line-ups for three days have also been announced. The opening night will feature the best of the French-speaking Caribbean diaspora artists including Kassav, Wyclef Jean, Djakout #1 and Tabou Combo. On the second and the third day of the festival, there will be night performances of superstars which will feature the music genres of dancehall, reggae, soca, calypso and world beat. Some of the best and biggest names in the world of music that are scheduled to perform include Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley, the royalty from Jamaica's Reggae and Alison Hinds, the Barbadian Soca queen.
The Festival will also mark the Labor Weekend celebrations and other such cultural activities. The festival will serve as a lead-up to the West Indian American Labor Carnival Parade which happens every year and attracts more than three million audiences. At this three-day Caribbean Fever Music Festival you will also get to watch the live performances of Machel Montano of Trinidad; the Jamaica's own Soca king, Baby Cham; Doug E. Fresh from Barbados and Slick Rick the Ruler and Mr. Vegas. Some other artists from the French-Caribbean music genres of Kompa and Zouk will also make appearances at the festival's International Night.
The International Night of the festival will be headlined by Wyclef Jean who is an award-winning multi-platinum musician. Hailed as one of the most talented artists, Jean is a native of Haiti. He is a part of Fugees, a musical trio, as the front man for past two decades during which he has successfully reached to the top of American as well as international music scene. Jean's most recent album, a mix tape, "April Showers" was released this year in April and his upcoming album is "The carnival Begins." Famous for his eclectic mix of Hip-Hop, world carnival tempos and the distinctive Caribbean vibes, Jean is sure to amaze the crowd at the Caribbean Fever Music Festival.
The Festival also marks the return of Kassav, the famous Caribbean ZoukBeton band which will be coming to New York City after a period of two years. The band has been popularizing the Zouk and Compas music for 30 years now. The band is a show stopper with French Antillean Creole lyrics and the captivating beats that have earned it legions of loyal fans.
