The 'super group' Hellyeah has been entertaining heavy metal fans since its inception in 2006. Members from Mudvayne, Damage Plan, Pantera and Nothingface came together to form the heavy metal group Hellyeah. The group has four studio albums to its name and has featured several times on the Billboard charts.
A band recognized for its heavy-hitting, hard rock, Hellyeah was founded in Dallas, Texas. The band's initial lineup consisted of Vinnie Paul on drums, Greg Tribett on guitar, Chad Gray on vocals and Tom Maxwell on guitar. Gray originally performed as vocalist for Mudvayne with fellow member Greg Tribett, while Maxwell played for Nothingface and talented drummer Paul had previously been associated with Pantera and Damageplan.
Bassist Bob Zilla, also from Damageplan, joined the band later after Jerry Montano left the band following the release of their debut album. Zilla and Tribett parted ways with the band after their 2014 album. The replacement for Zilla was bass player Kyle Sanders from Bloodsimple.
The band released its eponymous debut album in 2007. "Alcohaulin' Ass" was the notable single from this album and climbed on the Billboard "Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks" chart, peaking at number seven. "You Wouldn't Know" was another track that featured on the same chart, climbing to number five. The album "Hellyeah" peaked on the Billboard 200 albums chart at number nine.
With their 2010 album Stampede, Hellyeah captivated listener's attention again. The album performed slightly better than the previous one, ranking at number two on the Billboard "Top Hard Rock Albums" chart and at number eight on the Billboard 200. The hit single from this album "Hell of A Time" also featured on the Billboard at number twenty on the "Rock Songs" chart.
Hellyeah's subsequent album Band Of Brothers was released in 2012. Taking a departure from the feel-good rock and roll of the previous two albums, Band of Brothers drew inspiration from the group's collective metal roots. Besides the title track, "War In Me" and "Rage Burn" clearly showcased the influence of Mudvayne, Damageplan, Nothingface and Pantera. Band of Brothers peaked at number three on the "Top Hard Rock Albums" chart and at number twenty on the Billboard 200 chart. The notable song from this album was the party anthem "Drink Drank Drunk".
In 2014, Hellyeah issued their highly anticipated album Blood for Blood. "Hush" and "Moth" became the leading tracks of this album. The album featured on five Billboard lists, peaking at number one on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart and at number eighteen on the Billboard 200 chart.
Blood for Blood is undoubtedly the band's most metal effort thus far. The album combines raw metal rock with emotionally introspective lyrics, making the band sound like a recharged version of itself. "Moth To The Flame" and "Hush" are the more contemplative numbers on the album while "Gift", "Demons In The Dirt" and "DMF" are more energetic songs. The album clearly deviates from the band's tradition of producing party rock anthems focusing more on their metallic roots instead.
Hellyeah has an extensive following among hard rock and heavy metal fans. The band has headlined several festivals. On their very first time on the road, they toured with the likes of Evanescence, Alter Bridge and Korn. In the past, Hellyeah tickets have sold out like hot cakes among heavy metal fans. Since then the band has changed their music style to appeal to an even wider audience.
Hellyeah tickets will be a treat for music lovers because the band's lively performances and the enthusiasm and energy of the crowd make for a wonderful experience. The band's hard rock tracks and southern tinted groovy metal rhythms resonate across the venue at live performances. True metal fans need to check out Hellyeah's talent.
