Bryan Ferry was born in Durham County England in 1945. He primarily was a fine art student in college and was a teacher at college in London but left teaching to pursue a career in music. Brian primarily is a singer and lyricist but can fluently play instruments like harmonica, guitar and keyboards, he has also appeared in a few movies in minor roles. He primarily focuses on genres like New Romanticism, New Wave, Art rock, Glam rock and pop-rock. Throughout his career he has been associated with different famous music labels like EMI Records, Atco, Atlantic, Warner Bros, Reprise, Polydor Recording and Virgin Music Records.
Ferry has worked with acclaimed musicians like David Gilmour of legendary band Pink Floyd, Scissor Sisters, Johnny Greenwood, Nile Rodgers and Grove Armada. His most successful album till date is Boys and Girls that was released in 1985, this album went Platinum in UK, Gold in the US and was at #1 on UK Album Charts. Taxi released in 1993 can be termed as his second best effort as it landed at #2 and #79 in UK and US respectively and also earned Gold certification in UK. His latest work till date is Olympia that was released in 2010, this album failed to get any certification but did manage to land at #19 on UK Charts and #71 on US Charts. Bryan Ferry also released a compilation album in 1986 called Street Life: 20 Great Hits, this album was received well by his fans and it went to the #1 slot n UK Charts and #100 on US Billboard.
