The Paramount Theater originally premiered as a movie theater that was designed by the Chicago architectural firm, Rapp and Rapp. The murals, however, had been designed by Louis Grell of Chicago and decorations done by Vincent Mondo. The movie theater was formerly a part of the Paramount-Publix Theater Circuit which is the exhibition wing of Paramount Pictures. The three story structure was erected by the local architect, Temple H. Buell. His building design is largely a reflection of the great Gothic style which appeals to the locals and tourists alike.
