In 1970, Walt Topel purchased the Briar Street Theater and put it to work as a sound stage and office for his growing film production company. The Theater was re-opened in 1985 with a flexible layout in terms of both patron seating as well as conversion to film and television production.

The present Briar Street Theater is a far cry from the building"s original duty as a carriage house constructed in 1901. The amazing lobby design space is still owned by the Topel family.
