In 2001, the venue hosted the Tennis Masters Cup of the ATP World Tour Finals which was successfully won by Lleyton Hewitt who is an Australian number one tennis player. Hewitt defeated Sebastien Grosjean from France in the final match.

During the 2012-2013 reunion tour of Black Sabbath an English heavy metal band, they first performed in the arena after over 40 years. The arena can hold up to 21,000 people at one time making it the largest indoor venue located in Australia.
