Yanni Indianapolis in Tickets
It takes a musician of considerable fiber to perform at venues like the Acropolis, Taj Mahal, Kremlin, and Forbidden City. Yet Greek pianist, keyboardist, and composer Yanni has rocked venues around the world with his contemporary classical and New Age music. The Yanni Indianapolis show will see him push the boundaries further.
Born as Yiannis Hrysomallis in Kalamata, Greece in 1954, he had no formal musical training, emerging self-taught. While attending the University of Minnesota, Yanni joined Chameleon. Modest success followed, and the lure of soundtrack music saw him move to LA. Optimystique, recorded in 1980 and released four years later, championed his contemporary classical and soothing New Age music. He finally made his own band with pianist/composer John Tesh and drummer Charlie Adams in 1987 to promote his earlier instrumental works.
Yanni has sold over 20 million worldwide albums. He has fourteen studio albums. ‘Truth of Touch’ was 2011’s top-selling New Age album, while ‘Reflections of Passion’ (2x), ‘Dare to Dream’ and ‘In My Time’ all reached at least Platinum certification. The latter two received Grammy nominations. He has seven soundtracks and live albums each. Of the latter, Yanni Live at the Acropolis catapulted him to greatness; becoming history’s second-fastest selling music video (7 million units).
Yanni has performed 17 tours, taking him to over 20 countries with a cumulative audience of two million. He takes another stride with the upcoming Yanni Indianapolis show. The grizzled veteran and his orchestra will enthrall audiences with Yanni Indianapolis tickets this April.
