Wicked, the musical is presents a spectacular insight into the times of the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the South. Elphaba, who is mean and green like the color of envy but she is not really so bad. Wicked is the story of this misunderstood witch and how she really turns bad and ended up being covetous of the ruby slippers. The musical is based on Gregory Maguire's bestselling novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West which was published in 1994.
The show became a tremendous hit right after its first production and has entertained thousands and thousands of theatre goers around not just the US or the UK but the rest of the world as well. Just seven years into the production and the show has already become twenty fifth longest running shows in the history of theatre. Along with that, the show has also had the honor of being the seventeenth longest running show on Broadway with more than twenty eight hundred shows.
